Overthinking and anxiety can be exhausting, we have the experience and patience to help you

What is OCD and how it get’s treated?

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a chronic mental health condition. It causes a loop of distressing thoughts (obsessions) and urges to perform specific actions (compulsions) to relieve that anxiety.

Obsessions are troubling thoughts that persist in your mind, causing constant mental agitation and disrupting your peace.

Obsessions can manifest in various ways, such as an intense fear of germs or contamination, unwanted sexual or violent thoughts, religious guilt, a fear of losing control, or an excessive need for everything to be “just right.”

Compulsions, on the other hand, are repetitive acts that serve as rituals to alleviate high anxiety. The constant strain of overthinking, worry, and anxiety can be exhausting, leading to a state of mental anguish that can persist 24/7.

Compulsions can manifest in various ways, such as excessive handwashing or cleaning, checking doors, appliances, or locks repeatedly, repeating words, prayers, or phrases, arranging items until they feel “perfect,” or engaging in counting rituals or touching things a specific number of times. These behaviors are not driven by pleasure but rather serve as a means to avoid a perceived threat or impending doom.

We at Brain Bloom Neurotherapy Center can provide relief by combining Cognitive-Behavioral strategies, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, and medications. Therapy for OCD is not a quick or easy process, but we have the experience and patience to help you work through it.
