TMS Patient Interview
What was your experience at Brain Bloom?
It was a really good experience, very welcoming and accommodating to my needs, my schedule, and my circumstances. A very warm environment. Even when my progress was slow or when I had a bad day, it was a safe place to be.
What was your experience with TMS?
Pretty good, it was nice having your staff setting things up and explaining how things worked. I feel like getting into the routine was really nice, and the setup.
I really liked how it was the same routine every time. It was nice that I always knew what to expect. It was very consistent, the most consistent part of my day, which was really good for me.
What were the biggest changes from when you started TMS till now?
Definitely. A huge decrease in suicidal ideation and self-harm ideation. I can see a huge difference in my symptoms of depression that I have never really seen with medication before.
What are some things that friends/family have noticed about you?
That I seem a lot lighter and brighter, when I started, I was perceived as a very gloomy, sad kinda person. It’s nice. My mom, friends, and boyfriend have all noticed that I seem lighter.
Would you recommend TMS?
Absolutely, this was a “Hail Mary” scenario for me. I have had trouble with MDD since I was a child. Going through a decade of being medicated and therapy with not very much positive outcome and being in and out of the hospital. So, to see results like this is incredible, and I didn’t think it was possible.
Part of the reason that I was having so much trouble at the start was that I was so down and out. I was committed to doing it, but I didn’t think it was going to work, because nothing worked. I’m very grateful to Dr. Habibpour and Amina staff for making it such a positive experience that I really needed.
